It should be simple

I’ve been away from my blog for so long I feel like I could easily write a book.  A lot has been going on.  Good things.  Not so good things.  Photography and blogging were put on the back burner.  Every time I’d look at my camera collecting dust on the floor, I’d wonder if I still remembered how to take a picture.   The thought was a little depressing.  Just when I was starting to improve and feel comfortable with photographing, I had chose to put it aside.  I’d like to say I had no choice so I wouldn’t feel so guilty about it, but it wouldn’t be true.  I had to prioritize and let’s just say it fell to the bottom of the list.  Along with blogging unfortunately.  Without the two, I’ve been feeling a little lost.  Don’t get me wrong, the break has been rather nice too.  I know confusing right?  I don’t get myself sometimes.  My hiatus, though, gave me more time to confirm, yet again, that I am definitely not an extremist.  Never have been.  It may work for some people, just not me.  I wasn’t happy dedicating every spare minute I had to photography and blogging, and I wasn’t happy removing these things completely from my life either.  Yeah, I’m more of the happy medium type.

So here’s my happy medium.  Photograph when I feel the want.  Blog when I have something to say.  It’s that simple.  The minute I feel like it’s not simple anymore, than I’ll have to reevaluate.

And just in case you’d like to know who has been monopolizing my list of priorities these days (or for the last 2 and half years I should say), that would be this kid.

Can you stand it?

It’s always been about her.  It always will be.  I am a very happy and lucky mama!

I also wanted to link up the following picture, my favorite of the week, to the following photo challenges.

  1. These pictures are BEAUTIFUL hon!! And I totally understand where you are coming from. I used to have so much time to blog, and edit pictures, and do all that...and now, I just don't unless I spend less time with people that matter to me. I'm not okay doing that, so my blog and my photography have suffered...but that's okay!!! My followers have gone down, I barely post more than once a week...and that's okay! I miss it, and more importantly, I miss the daily interaction with other awesome bloggers (like you), but my family comes first!!

Anyway, just wanted to know, I know where you are coming from...and seriously, these pictures are AMAZING and totally capture her personality!

  3. This is exactly why I (maybe) only blog once or twice at the most a week. I just don't want it to feel like work. It started as a hobby and outlet and it should stay that way (at least for me) I say good for you for taking a break and post when you feel inclined, not forced. Love those eyes of hers. What a sweet sweet girl!

  5. I know what you mean totally. Sometimes I just feel like what am I blogging for? Who am I blogging for? I feel like I need to keep it going sometimes so I can show my pictures somewhere... maybe someone will appreciate them ya know?! But I often feel pressured to write when I don't have much to say... and it leads to nothing haha.
I love all the pictures of Livvy! I love her messy hair - so adorable! And her face- so precious! :)
