Toddler Clothing: Recommendations from an Experienced Shop-a-holic!

Do you have a shopping addiction?  I sure do!  Before I had my first child, Alivia, it was a handbag and shoe addiction.  Now that I have Alivia, it's an addiction to little girl's clothing!  The beautiful colors, enticing trims, fun prints, and soft fabrics always seem to call my name when I walk by.  And because Alivia loves clothing, shoes, and accessories just as much as me if not more makes it almost impossible to fight the urge to buy her pretty things!  Let me tell you how bad it's gotten.

TODDLER CLOTHING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM AN EXPERIENCED SHOP-A-HOLIC

In the past month, I must have purchased at least 30 outfits for her!  Maybe more, but I'm not certain.  Aside from the outfits, she has 5 new bathing suits, 6 pairs of shoes, and 5 hats for the Summer!  The worst part?  I don't even look at price tags anymore.  If I like it, I buy it.  Of course, that's not to say I don't cringe when I hear the cashier tell me the total.  Is it hot in here (that's what I think to myself).  No, it's just me sweating from the thought of spending all that money!  You'd think it would stop me, but NO!  Yep, I'm sick.  I know.

Here's the thing though.  I barely buy myself anything anymore.  My husband, God love him, barely needs or wants anything.  We work hard, have great credit, and pay our bills on time so why the heck not splurge every so often?  I think we deserve it!  Besides there's a lot worse things I could be addicted to!

Luckily for everyone, I am a smart shopper!  You'll find my wallet busting at the seams from the massive amount of coupons I always seem to have.  I also look up stores on my computer in advance to see who is having sales and when I find something worth purchasing, I run a price comparison on my smart phone.  Of course there are times I do pay full price, but they are few and far between!  Need a phone application to help you do a price comparison?  Check out these great ones:

- Price Check by Amazon for Android and for iPhone
- ShopSavvy Barcode Scanner for Android and for iPhone
- The Find for Android

And some great coupon websites and applications:

- Wow Coupons
- Retail me Not
- The Coupons App for Android and for iPhone

Today, I would say I'm a very experienced shopper!  I know which designers/stores make quality clothing (items that wash and wear well, are comfortable, and are made of durable fabrics).  With that said, I thought I'd share some of my favorite stores I like to shop in for Alivia!  They vary in price range whether you are looking for a deal or would like to splurge!

  1. My husband always says thank goodness we have a son, if I had a daughter there would be no stopping me!! Boys clothes are just not as exciting as little girls, plus there are way more cute things to buy for girls. Luckily I have 4 nieces so still get my fill of buying girlie things.
Thanks for all the great suggestions.

  5. Oh goodness, if my husband new I saw this, and the simple fact that I am already filling up a cart in my mind for my girls, he would not be too happy, haha. I love all of these brands, and I LOVE having girls to put in all these cute clothes. It's funny, because I also have really stopped buying for myself, compared to how much I spend on my daughters. My husband had to force me to take a shopping trip for myself, and I still ended up coming home with 4 outfits for my oldest. Oops :)

  8. kids grow very quickly and favorite clothes are often outgrown long before they’re worn out. You can benefit from what other people have had to throw out... some items may still carry the original shop tag, indicating that they've never been worn.

  11. I am a shopaholic too, but I spend mostly on second hand clothes. Kids outgrow their clothes so fast and buying brand new clothing is a no no for me. I sometimes ask from friends and relatives for a hand me down clothes just to save.

  12. One of biggest advantages of buying clothes from online stores is that we get clothes at a much reduced rate compared to rates of physical retail stores. I bought Kim Rogers dress for my niece and I am happy that she loved it.
