Alivia’s Birthday Party!

Alivia’s birthday was yesterday!  She turned two years old at exactly 8:58 pm!  I can’t believe two years have gone by!  It’s like I was just mixing formula for her bottle, turned around, and a little girl took my baby’s place!  As much as she’s changed, if I look hard enough, I can still see the newborn in her.  Her eyes and nose are quite the same, only a bit larger.  Her mouth is the only thing that has really changed.  Although the shape remains the same, her lips have become fuller.  And the shape of her face that was once a tiny round circle has become slightly more defined around the jaw line!  And these are just her physical differences.  I could write a book about how much she has developed mentally!  It’s crazy really!

We had her birthday party this past weekend and the turn out was great!  It was so much fun to see everyone and watch all the kids play together!  It was a little chaotic at times, but I wouldn’t of had it any other way!  Alivia is so fortunate to have such wonderful and loving family in her life!  We decided early on that my sister would bring her camera to snap a few pictures of Alivia and I together since I had none!  And how often are we both dressed up?  Well I’ll tell you, it’s not too often that’s for sure!   Since the pictures that my sister took have yet to be processed, I thought I’d share just a couple today that I took myself.  When everyone went home (around 6:30 pm), the hubby and I took Alivia outside for a little while to play with her new baby doll and carriage.  It was the perfect time of day to snap a few pictures!

I’m linking up the shot below to the following photo challenges.  I love it because she is looking directly into the lens.  I put a sticker on my camera so she’d look at me.  You’d think that I would have gotten a smile, a hint of a smile, or anything for that matter, but instead I got this seriousness!  Too funny!

More birthday pictures to come!

Now I’m off to Alivia’s 2nd year doctor’s appointment.
It’s going to be a stressful one!
She has to get multiple shots (my poor baby)!
I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown though!

  6. I just adore that first shot of Alivia!! So sweet. Happy 2 years Alivia!! Yay!! Isn't it amazing how much they change mentally & physically in such a short period of time?! I don't know about you but I am so happy I am documenting all this stuff somewhere (blog) where we can go back and look later in life. I always go back to the earlier pictures of J and smile!!

Smart to have someone else take photos of the 2 of you together - us moms don't get that too often! Can't wait to see more pictures! :)
